River Neighbors Newsletter

Information for people who use TVA-managed reservoirs

Current issue

Although reservoir levels have increased, the Valley is still in a drought condition due to the lack of rain in 2007 and continued below-normal precipitation in 2008. TVA's Chuck Bach, manager of River Scheduling, explains what that means for reservoir levels this summer.

Other topics covered in the issue include:

  • How one raindrop is used over and over again to provide benefits all along the Tennessee River system
  • The impact of the 2007 drought on reservoir health
  • Planning for the future of TVA-managed lands
  • Tips for safe boating, especially in barge traffic
  • How to save water by using a rain barrel.

Read these and other river-system stories in the May 2008 River Neighbors.
