Reconstruction of existing public boat ramp and jetty extension
Tennessee River Mile 348.5L, Wheeler Reservoir, Marshall County, Alabama
The applicant proposes to reconstruct the public ramp and jetty below Guntersville Dam at the subject location. Two concrete pads measuring 30’ x 30’ x 0.5’ would be poured in place and pushed into the water and tied together. The total amount of concrete to be placed below normal summer pool elevation 556.0’ would be 28.3 cubic yards. The existing riprap jetty would be extended into the water 25 to 30 feet, and built 4 to 6 feet higher.
Additional riprap would be placed at the end of the ramp to control deep impressions created from boat loading. Riprap would also be placed on the downstream side of the ramp to protect it from eddies created from future flooding. The total amount of riprap to be placed below normal summer pool elevation 556.0’ would be 346.5 cubic yards. For more information, see the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Public Notice.
