TVA To Close One Lane of U.S. Highway 441 Across Norris Dam
October 19, 2005
NORRIS, Tenn. – The northbound lane of U.S. Highway 441 across TVA’s Norris Dam will be closed until mid-January to allow work on the Unit 1 intake gate that controls the flow of water from the reservoir.
Equipment and work vehicles will be parked in the northbound lane for the duration of the maintenance project, which is scheduled to begin Monday, Oct 24, and continue until mid-January 2006.
Traffic lights will be used to direct one-way traffic across the dam. Motorists may want to consider another route until the repairs are complete.
