TVA Campgrounds Closing for 2005 Season

TVA’s 11 seasonal campgrounds on reservoirs throughout the Tennessee Valley will close Monday, Nov. 7, for the 2005 recreation season.

The campgrounds will reopen next spring for the 2006 camping season. TVA’s day-use recreation areas will remain open throughout the winter, and other TVA campgrounds that are operated by concessionaires may stay open year-round.

Campgrounds closing on Nov. 7:

  • Cherokee Reservoir - Cherokee Dam Campground
  • Douglas Reservoir - Douglas Dam Headwater and Tailwater
  • Foster Falls (located in Marion County near Tracy City, Tenn.)
  • Melton Hill Reservoir - Upper and Lower Sections
  • Norris Reservoir - Loyston Point
  • Normandy Reservoir – Barton Springs
  • Pickwick Reservoir - Pickwick Dam Tailwater
  • Watauga Reservoir - Watauga Dam Tailwater
  • Wheeler Reservoir - Mallard Creek
  • Wilson Reservoir - Wilson Dam – Rockpile
