TVA Employees Move to One Lenoir City Location
December 3, 2004
LENOIR CITY, Tenn. – To optimize the use of TVA office space while minimizing
current and future costs, three separate TVA organizations are moving to one location in
Lenoir City, and employees will begin work there Monday, Dec. 6.
TVA’s new Lenoir City offices, located at 260 Interchange Park Drive, will house
the Watts Bar-Clinch Watershed Team, the Little Tennessee Watershed Team and the
TVA Police Fort Loudoun unit. Approximately 41 employees will use the new offices.
The Watts-Bar Clinch Watershed Team, which serves Norris, Melton Hill, Watts
Bar and Great Falls reservoirs, may be reached at (865) 632-1320. The Little
Tennessee Watershed Team serves Fort Loudoun, Tellico and Fontana reservoirs and
may be contacted at (865) 632-1300. The TVA Police Fort Loudoun unit may be
reached at (865) 632-1350.
A satellite office in Norris for the Watts Bar-Clinch Watershed Team will be open
on Tuesdays and Fridays at the TVA Engineering Lab Building B to assist customers in
the Norris area. The phone number is (865) 632-1476.
TVA is now in the third year of implementing its Strategic Facilities Plan, during
which it has vacated facilities not in use or for which there are no future plans. This is
being done through sales, subleases and termination of leases of TVA facilities across
the Tennessee Valley.
Since 2001, through consolidations, sales, subleases and other initiatives, TVA
has reduced its office space by about 500,000 square feet for a total savings of more
than $20 million. In addition to the direct proceeds from these transactions, TVA obtains
additional benefits by reducing or eliminating maintenance costs on these properties. All
of these savings contribute to reducing TVA’s debt and increasing financial flexibility.
TVA is the nation’s largest public power provider and is completely selffinanced. TVA provides power to large industries and 158 power distributors that
serve approximately 8.5 million consumers in seven southeastern states. TVA also
manages the Tennessee River and its tributaries to provide multiple benefits,
including flood control, navigation, water quality, water supply and recreation.
