TVA To Close Road Over Wilson Dam This Weekend
July 31, 2014
FLORENCE, Ala. – Traffic across Wilson Dam on South Cox Creek Parkway/North Wilson Dam Road near Florence will be closed this weekend, Aug. 1-3, for the Police Benevolent Foundation’s Race for the Fallen 5K GLOW Run and Walk.
The road already is being closed weekly for crane maintenance, from 7 a.m. CDT Mondays to 5 p.m. CDT Thursdays, for the safety of motorists and repair crews. That work is expected to be completed on Aug. 28, depending on weather.
Until the work is finished, motorists should continue to expect delays and may want to consider another route. Signs will be placed on both sides of the bridge and gates will be in place.
