Aug. 6, 2014

GRAY, Tenn. – Motorists and day-use area users should be aware of maintenance activities that will require the closure of Boone Dam Road south of Minga Road near the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Boone Dam beginning on Monday, Aug. 11.

To ensure the safety of the public and maintenance crews, all public day-use and swimming areas at the dam will also be closed to allow for extensive re-surfacing of all roadways and parking areas.

Weather permitting, all work should be complete and the area re-opened by Friday, Aug. 22, to allow the public to fully use the facility for the Labor Day weekend.

The Tennessee Valley Authority is a corporate agency of the United States that provides electricity for business customers and local power distributors serving 9 million people in parts of seven southeastern states.
