TVA Issues Water Traffic Caution at Green River
June 25, 2014
PARADISE, Ky. - The Tennessee Valley Authority has issued a water traffic caution during transmission line work across the Green River near the Paradise Fossil Plant.
On Friday and Saturday, June 27 and 28, TVA transmission line construction crews will be replacing the transmission conductor (wires) on the Paradise-New Hardinsburg 161-kilovolt Transmission Line. The project is expected to be completed in two days.
All watercraft operators should take extra precaution during this time while traveling on the Green River at River Mile 100.8. Boaters should watch for and heed warnings from the four security boats that will be on patrol in the area.
TVA will be removing the transmission conductor and replacing it with new, higher capacity conductor. Work is scheduled from 6 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. CDT each day.
The Tennessee Valley Authority is a corporate agency of the United States that provides electricity for business customers and local power distributors serving 9 million people in parts of seven southeastern states.
