TVA To Close One Lane of U.S. Highway 321 Across Fort Loudoun Dam

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. – Beginning Tuesday, May 27, and continuing through September 30, traffic crossing TVA’s Fort Loudoun Dam on U.S. Highway 321 and State Route 73 will be restricted to one lane for brief periods of time while TVA completes maintenance on the bridge.
TVA plans to keep both lanes across the dam open to traffic during rush hour in the mornings and evenings and during the Fourth of July and Labor Day holiday weekends.
TVA is the nation’s largest public power provider and is completely self- financing. TVA provides power to large industries and 159 power distributors that serve approximately 8.8 million consumers in seven southeastern states. TVA also manages the Tennessee River and its tributaries to provide multiple benefits, including flood damage reduction, navigation, water quality and recreation.
