Melton Hill Reservoir Land Management Plan
TVA appreciates your interest in the Melton Hill Reservoir Land Management Plan (RLMP). The final environmental assessment (EA) and RLMP are being issued by TVA following the review and comment period of the draft version. Comments from the general public, various state and federal agencies, elected officials, resource conservation groups, and other interested groups were considered in modifying the draft and completing the final EA and RLMP.
On April 21, 1999, the TVA Board of Directors adopted the RLMP covering 2,578 acres of TVA lands on Melton Hill Reservoir. The RLMP is used to guide land use approvals, private water use facility permitting, and resource management decisions on these lands. The planned lands are allocated to various planning zones as follows: 619.7 acres for natural resource conservation; 1,275.6 acres for sensitive resource management; 216.1 acres for recreation development; 294.4 acres for project operations; 150.7 acres for shoreline residential access; and 21.8 acres for industrial and commercial development.
